The Crown Inn – Pooley Bridge, Cumbria

Our Commercial Glass team transform The Crown Inn, Penrith with Frameless Balustrade and Toughened Glass Curtain Walls and Doors.

Great to see images of the fabulous Cheadle Glass balustrade installations at The Crown Inn at Pooley Bridge, Penrith, Cumbria. The site enjoys a unique location by the River Earmont and was the scene of devastation after flooding almost 2 years ago. Now families have enjoyed an extended Indian Summer in 2017 as the site is fully refurbished and the elevated outdoor leisure space has great views of the river and the surrounding stunning Cumbrian countryside.

The glass work has really transformed this iconic cumbrian location. Over a 40m run of Frameless Toughened 19mm Glass Balustrade secure the viewing balcony, with an additional Glass security gate at one end.  Whilst the lower deck has 3 sets of double safety glass doors and curtain walls adding a further 40 square metres of  12mm toughened glass to the project.

The building gives a great sense of bringing the outdoors inside and makes the most of the fabulous outlook down the river and beyond to the cumbrian hills. The insulation performance of the Glass walls are sure to make this a warm and comfortable location, even in the colder Autumn and Winter months ensuring the Crown Inns customers enjoy all year round use of this unique location.
