Hello and welcome back to a chilly January here in Stockport.
This is a special year for Keith and I and all of the Cheadle Glass family as we celebrate 50 years in business in 2018.
Many of the Cheadle Glass team are like family and have been with the company for many of those years. Of our 50 staff, more than 20% have been with us for 10 years or more with 11 completing close or over 25 years with us!
We hope this is testament, not only to the mutual respected loyalty we have with the team, but also the importance we place on continuity, excellence in customer service and the reliability and responsibility we have shown to our many 1000’s of customers over the years.
2018 will be year of expansion and change for Cheadle Glass, but our core values of product excellence, customer service focus, the craftsmanship and expertise of our installation teams and our commitment to No Pressure, No Sales Gimmicks and No False Promises, remain the same.
Customer loyalty has been so important to our longevity and were pleased to have earned that in both domestic and commercial markets. Many families have had us renovate multiple homes as they have moved over the years and now we are helping second generations with improvements, extensions and interiors.
In our commercial markets we have seen increasing use of glass in construction. Staircases, Office partitions, Exterior Balustrade, Juliette Balconies and Wall Claddings have grown alongside our more traditional markets of Shower Screens, Splash Backs and Interior Doors. Cheadle glass remain one of very few National companies who toughen, process and manufacture these single glazed ranges on site and last years investment in the new toughening plant at our Borron Street HQ has been very successful, improving our productivity and reducing our operating costs which has had a positive return whilst keeping our prices low and competitive.
It is an investment strategy that continues into 2018 with new laminating plant and improvements to IT systems and resource planning systems, complimented by new staff in sales and administration to support our trade and commercial customers in both supply only and supply and installation contracts.
The Glass industry has gone through many changes and so many competitive companies have not stood some testing times but I hope that we continue to evolve with the changing trends and challenges our customers demand. We are constantly working with designers to be innovative in the use of glass for interiors and regularly add new Double Glazing products to our portfolio when they are in demand and meet our stringent quality mark.
We continue our strong bond with VEKA and are are a prominent member of the Independent Network in the North West, with a 5/5 star rating maintained through the All Checked independent review process. We’ve added new strategic partnerships to our Home Improvements division including KAT aluminium product and Solidor and Virtuoso composite doors. So we’ve no intention of slowing down these services just yet!
Perhaps our most exciting outlook for 2018 is developing partnerships in the glass office partition market. Office interior designers and business owners are dedicated to improving workspaces with more natural light and open airy work areas, whilst retaining visual and audio privacy when required in meeting spaces.
Glass offers the perfect solution and recent development in frameless glass partition systems, lower cost hardware and improvements in thermal and audio performance is helping Cheadle Glass cement a leading supplier position in the partition market as we head into the new year. With white label marketing services and dedicated account management we are actively seeking partnerships with new commercial organisations and can offer a unique opportunity to benefit from this rapidly expanding market.
So it’s going to be another busy year and all that remains for me to do is to say thank you to all of our loyal customers, suppliers and staff for your support throughout all of the last 50 years.
Happy New Year
